producing recombinant products since the early 1990s.
They have performed thousands of experiments using E. coli,
culturing them in small shake flask experiments and scaling
them up to large high density fermentations of hundreds of
liters or more. They have purified the resulting products to
pharmaceutical grade at multi-gram scales.
In order to simplify their work, they spent
countless hours developing products, unavailable elsewhere,
to simplify their cell growth experiments and subsequent
downstream processing. Some of these have resulted in
in our standard products, while others are better categorized
as custom ones. These unique products provide
important boosts in product quality and personnel

STANDARD
PRODUCTS SimPro Scientific has two lines of bacterial growth media. The first, SimPro Scientific's PUB media, is designed for growth of
E. coli in shake flasks. It achieves cell densities approximately 10 fold higher than LB and is available in three formulations, including
auto-inducing ones for lactose and arabinose based promoters. The second, SimPro Scientific's BUF medium, is designed for growth of
E. coli in fermenters. When used with the proper feed strategy, it consistently produces cell densities approximately 100 fold higher than LB with equal increases in product yields. SimPro Scientific also has a line of pump controllers to simplify common biotech processes. The A100
automates feed additions when performing high density
fermentations. Use it along with our BUF media to rapidly
enable your performance of high cell density fermentations. The W100 is a weight based controller that automates the performance of constant volume processes such as diafiltration (buffer exchange) and perfusion cell culture for improved performance and productivity.
